Both are taught by certified instructors with real-world crane and hoist experience, combining classroom instruction with hands-on practical training. Safety Is Part of Every Course
Both programs are built around WorkSafeBC compliance and BC safety standards. Hoist operators complete a written exam and a full practical hoist cycle before receiving their certificate. Rigger Fundamentals covers inspection and rejection criteria, load behaviour, sling-angle calculations, and crane hazard awareness, the knowledge that keeps crews safe when equipment is moving. Our instructors don’t just teach to pass an exam. They teach to the job site.
Hoist Operator Training
A 3-day program combining classroom instruction with practical hoist operation. Led by Brennen Rushworth, C-Class certified with 15+ years of experience, the course covers hoist types, regulatory compliance, inspections, documentation, safe operation, and emergency procedures. Participants complete a written exam at 80% pass mark and a full practical hoist cycle to earn their Certificate of Completion. Tuition is $2,200 + GST per participant, including the participant guide and certificate. Up to 6 participants per session.
Rigger Fundamentals Course
A practical rigging course designed for new and developing riggers, labourers, apprentices, tradespeople, crane support crews, hoist users, and safety personnel. Led by Jason Thomas, Tower Crane Logistics Manager and certified ABCS rigging and overhead crane instructor. The course covers crane and hoisting hand signals, load weight estimation, centre of gravity, rigging hardware, inspection and rejection criteria, sling-angle calculations, rigging tables, equipment care, and lift planning.
